Sherry YardBrooklyn-born Sherry Yard is an accomplished chef who has spent her extensive career making a mark on the culinary world. Her innovative approach has garnered her three James Beard Awards and an induction into their Who’s Who of Food & Beverage in America, a prestigious culinary lifetime achievement award. Yard has garnered numerous accolades, receiving recognition from renowned publications such as Bon Appetit Magazine, Food Arts Magazine, and more, along with authoring two successful cookbooks and securing an esteemed appointment as Chief Operating Officer for Tuck Hospitality Group.

At the onset of her career, Yard quickly found her true calling in the culinary arts, gaining momentum at the venerable Rainbow Room, followed by a stint in San Francisco’s celebrated Campton Place. Yard’s most prominent growth occurred after a move to Los Angeles, where she expanded her skills as an Executive Partner within Wolfgang Puck’s empire for nearly 20 years—including an impressive 19 years at Spago in Beverly Hills—encompassing the crafting of masterful breads, creating menus, and opening new restaurants while simultaneously mentoring an entire generation of chefs in kitchens from Singapore to Santa Monica.

During her time with Puck, Yard became affectionately known by the media as “L.A.’s Sweetheart”, not only for her bubbly personality but for her incomparably creative and fresh from the farm desserts. Her pastry creations quickly became staples at such high-profile events as the Academy Awards Governor’s Ball, the Grammy Awards, and the Emmy Awards, where she could be spotted in her iconic pink chef’s jacket in support of breast cancer awareness.

At iPic Entertainment, Yard has been credited with redefining what guests eat at the movies, crafting a unique “Dining in the Dark” menu that has revolutionized the typical moviegoing outing with a focus on the sensory experience of a meal. She is responsible for overseeing the iPic Express concession concept for the brand’s luxury movie theaters as well as independent restaurants and bars within Tuck Hospitality Group, including The Tuck Room Tavern in Westwood; The Tuck Room gastrolounge with locations in North Miami Beach, Houston and NYC at Fulton Market at Seaport District, Tanzy Restaurant in Scottsdale and Boca Raton; and City Perch Kitchen + Bar in Bethesda, Fort Lee and a new location now open in Rivertowns Square in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Yard has extended her talents onto the big screen, appearing in a starring role in iPic’s monthly editorial preshow, iPic Now. The 20-minute segment airs on-screen nationally at iPic Theaters before the movie and features Yard’s signature guest chef series as a part of the fun, welcoming such chefs as Antonia Lofaso, Jet Tila, Mindy Segal, Ben Ford, Eric Greenspan, and Elizabeth Falkner to join her in crafting exclusive iPic dishes. Yard is also a sought out national television personality, having served both as a guest judge and a contestant on shows like Cutthroat Kitchen, The Next Food Network Star, Cake Wars, and Christmas Cookie Challenge, amongst others.

Yard sits on the boards of numerous philanthropic organizations and is a driving force of the Careers through Culinary Arts Program (C-CAP). She is involved in fundraising efforts for the Women’s Cancer Research Center, Special Olympics, American Cancer Society, and the Citymeals-on-Wheels.
