Nora Pouillon is a pioneer and champion of organic, environmentally conscious cuisine. In 1979 Nora, along with her partners, opened Restaurant Nora, a home for her vision of healthier eating and living. In 1999, Restaurant Nora became the Nation's First Certified Organic Restaurant. Additionally, Nora initiated DC's first producer-only farmer's market, called FreshFARM Markets. She continues to advocate for sustainable and healthy living through the many boards she sits on, including, The Environmental Film Festival, Amazon Conservation Team and Earth Day Network. In early 2015, Nora's memoir, My Organic Life: How a Pioneering Chef Changed the Way We Eat Today was published. by Knopf. This spring her memoir was released in paperback.
